It's important to know what the people you learn from believe. You should know where they're coming from philosophically and theologically so you clearly understand where their teaching is leading you. All of us are going to disagree on some things. There are many secondary issues that we should just set aside and agree to disagree on. That's exactly what Romans 14 teaches! But on the other hand, there are some essential ideas that you should stand for and defend. It would be a good exercise for you to write down what are the most important, essential beliefs that you hold to. Below is a list of what we think are the essentials. If you disagree with them, please don’t take off. Please stick around and we can discuss them further!

What We Believe:

  1. The Bible is God’s perfect word.

  2. The Bible teaches there is one true God revealed as the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. He transcends this universe and is perfectly Holy and all-powerful. He hates sin but still loves sinners like us.

  3. All people sin and are deserving of punishment from God (i.e. hell). But because He loves us so much, He took our punishment on Himself by dying for us on the cross. He offers the free gift of forgiveness to anyone who believes in Him and calls on His name. A person is completely and instantly forgiven and born-again spiritually the moment they believe, repent of their sins, and confess that Jesus is Lord.

  4. After we are saved, we should do good works out of our love and thankfulness to Jesus. The Holy Spirit gives us power to serve Him. We should tell the whole world the Good News of Jesus. We should study the Bible and pray. We should fellowship regularly with other believers so we can grow spiritually and serve in Jesus' name.

  5. Jesus promised to make a home in Heaven for His followers. He promised to return to take us home!

Let’s grow together in Christ. Let’s worship Him and thank Him for all He has done for us. If you have never called out to Him, confessing your sinfulness and asking Him for the free gift of salvation, DO IT RIGHT NOW!
